Title: VR hands free
Post by: AKA_Clutter on May 20, 2018, 06:13:14 am
Just ran across this today, so have no clue about it.  However, if it can be integrated with flight sims it would be fantastic!!

I have been thinking about something like this for a while, (I am in the wrong industry...)  This is the future of VR, not just to visualize the space around you virtually but to be able to interact with it using your hands.

I think there needs to be a way to see your keyboard too.

Biggest thing I hear about flight sim VR is you can't see your keyboard.

Oculus rift has the hand things as well.  It would be cool if you could have a clickable cockpit and not need the keyboard

The Oculs Rift has a slight gap between the nose piece and you can somewhat see the keyboard.  It doable, but not the best.

DCS has a way for you to look at the control and then you can map keys on your joystick to emuplate the mouse commands.  I haven't tried it as I hate to lose four buttons on the HOTAS.  Someday … … ...

Yes, Voice attack helps.  Breaks the emersion, but that is going to be broken anyway.  I haven't tried in DCS, but works well in BOS

I haven't used it in a while.  I'll try and recreate things and send you something.

Same way you do in any game, it's basically a keyboard emulator.... You bind a word that you would speak into voice attack to a keystroke  .....So let's say you have super charger set to alt + s keys in game...In voice attack you set it up so when you say "super charger"  the super charger comes on ......it emulates Alt+ S
