Title: .950 CALIBER RIFLE
Post by: AKA_Trapper on March 08, 2014, 11:39:26 am

A real mans weapon!

.950 CALIBER RIFLE

Put aside your girly-man .458 Win Mag or your wimpy .50 cal and watch guys shoot a real gun, the largest center fire rifle ever made, the .950 JDJ by SSK Industries (Ohio).

Only three were ever made. This was the lightest, the carbine version, weighing in at 50 lbs. It shoots a .95 caliber 2,400 grain bullet at 2,100 fps using 240 grains of powder, which generates 25,400 ft/lbs of muzzle energy and 277 ft/lbs of recoil energy.

Each round costs $40.

That's just wrong in every way...LOL
Just curious, why would anyone want something like that.
I'd like to see the butt stop.  I wonder if it was certified for that caliber.. hmmm :o

just spent time and money on  wild cat calibers to produce hard hitting low recoil and cost effective accurate rounds. this just does not make any practical sense to me to even produce something like this.

@ Wylie you remember a while back I was telling you about field and range rifles based on the 6.5 x 47 lapua round

well we had fantastic success with the 6 x 47 lapua and the 7 x 47 lapua  both will shoot .300inch at 100  and 6mm can shoot 1inch at 300 mts

270 / 308 improved has now been field tested on pigs with 90 gn hp and 110 grn spbt  and very capable at taking out running pigs.up to 70 kg.

ROTFLMAO!
Next thing you know you'll see a bunch of chaps running down the street with a 105mm :o
Remember the old army small arms instructor song,

This is my rifle, (points to rifle)
This is my gun, (points to pecker)
This is for killing (points to rifle)
and this is for fun (points at pecker and Koko squeals in excitement).
