DCS Series Flight Sims / Re: poll: WWII maps and aircraft
« on: June 23, 2019, 10:09:35 am »
Yeah, better count me out for DCS WWII stuff. Too few WWII planes and too limited on maps.
Not to mention, the cost and time needed to program controls for every plane.

I will be gone next Tuesday as well, as I'll be in California.
We may need to reschedule?

Also, there were no P-40E's at Segi but plenty of P-40Ns

Copying the games IL2 1946, BOS and COD are as simple as moving the files from one drive to the new one and changing the path of the desktop shortcuts.
If you need help, just call.
I'll email you my number.

This is at the museum where Thrud and I volunteer. Check out their website to see wat planes they fly on weekends.
They'll soon have a Stuka, ME262, P-38 and who knows what else is in the pipeline.
I love this museum!

Is there anything I can do on this end, like any upgrades or such?
My Xfinity modem has the following speeds: 560 download/41.6 upload measured through Xfinity.
Using a standard test on the Internet, they show speeds of 60.1 megabits/sec download and 40.9 megabits/sec upload.
No idea why they are different.
You can check the CPUZ program on the server system for all server system information.
I'm maxed out on how much RAM the motherboard will hold.
The MB and CPU are several years old now though.
Let me know what you think.

I reviewed the 350 page BOS multiplayer manual and found no references to VR. I still have a LOT of reading to do.

Technical Help / Re: 1946 crashes!
« on: March 30, 2019, 10:08:06 am »
Have you tried a different video setting in the game's conf.ini since setting up the system in the new place?
The crashing to a black screen and only coming back after unplugging and plugging in the monitor is a new piece of the puzzle. Are you running the monitor (or is it a TV) from a digital or HDMI feed? Have you set up the TV (if that's what it is) to show it is being used with a PC signal?
Just trying to troubleshoot here. It's possible the problem lies within the monitor settings instead of the controllers, but once you get the new files set up, that should help pinpoint the problem. If the problem persists with the controllers, look at the monitor settings and conf.ini settings instead.

Windows assigns device numbers to controllers.
In your HOTAS section for controls in 1946, you can see what device # the game assigns to each controller.
The device is also tied to the port where it is plugged in.
If you switch the device cables between the ports where they are plugged in, 1946 does not recognize the devices as the same device number any more, and since the game only supports 4 devices total, the devices cannot be recognized.
Everyone should label their device cables and draw a diagram of the ports on the back of their computers showing what is plugged into which port so they don't get the devices confused if/when they unplug stuff to do service or move their computer.
Hope this helps.
