Wayno has the following going on with IL-2 1946.

He uses a microphone from a headset, with the microphone plugged into the pink plug on his motherboard.
He uses desktop speakers that are plugged into the green speaker plug on his motherboard.
In the past, this caused no issues in the 1946 game.
Recently, however, his microphone for TS has stopped working when he starts 1946. It seems to work OK in other sims.
I tried using different headset combinations, which did not resolve the problem. I looked at his game settings for 1946 and found nothing there to cause the problem. When he tried to transmit, the blue light in TS comes on, but no sound transmits from the microphone.
Any ideas?

IL_2 Cliffs of Dover / After-action report, Tuesday 8/20/19
« on: August 20, 2019, 07:23:52 pm »
I flew another COD mission today, although nobody else showed.
In the first sortie, I took off from Poix Nord, headed toward the dam at LaHavre and encountered a flight of 6 Spitfires who spotted me on the deck near Rouen. Unable to slip past unnoticed, I jettisoned the bombs and engaged, getting some hits into two of them, downing one. I spotted a flight of 109’s on the plotting table and headed their way, dragging the Spitfires behind me. As I passed the group of 3 109’s, they turned into the fight and the Spitfires scattered. I returned safely to Poix Nord and rearmed.

The second sortie enabled me to sneak into LaHavre area and drop 2 bombs on the dam, destroying it. Heavy enemy air activity on the map caused me to divert to the north, so I decided to try and drop my remaining bombs on targets at Dieppe.

Enroute, I spotted a flight of 2 Wellington bombers returning from the north, followed by a flight of escorting fighters, who were about 10km behind. I jumped one of the Wellingtons and downed him near the coast. I dropped back to the deck and continued to Dieppe where I destroyed the high octane fuel and submarine fuel. As I climbed out toward Poix Nord, the mission locked up and kicked me out.

Not a bad day all in all.

Kick ass in my absence, will you?

IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad / Enemy aircraft identification

Per a request from Wayno, let's get it in writing regarding what color to use for friendly aircraft.

From the Main Menu, select Settings.
From Settings menu select Flight Interface
From Flight Interface menu, select RED USSR

Thank you.

Technical Help / Help for Merc
« on: July 03, 2019, 11:35:21 am »
Hey all. I sent Merc the files on a thumb drive and so far the game runs OK offline, but when he tries to access the server the game loads to 90% humans then hangs and will not connect fully.
Any ideas what causes this?

Also, Greywolf, Merc got the same computer system you have and he cannot save any shortcuts to his desktop. It has a system (Dell) that uses a menu of apps rather than shortcuts. Is there a way to disable that system so he can use shortcuts like on his old Windows system? He's running Win10 on the new Dell.
Thanks for any info.

Stats for Phase 1 are out and posted. Phase 2 will be against AI forces.

IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad / First AKA training mission on BOS
« on: March 02, 2019, 09:03:39 am »
My input on last night's mission follows:

We had at least a dozen pilots show for the first BOS mission using the AKA Expert server. The only thing missing was someone who was willing to step up and take control of the mission planning, so Taipan took the lead and led us on a few missions against allied targets. Having to step up on the moment was implemented extremely well and we stayed together to perform the mission with very little difficulty.
Methinks we need to have someone on each side (Allied and Axis) who is willing to come up with a mission plan and make it available here on the forum.
This week we flew Axis. Next Friday, we will fly Allied.
Anyone interested at trying their hand at mission planning against German targets?
Likewise, is anyone interested in being in charge for the Axis missions?
Each week we switch to the opposite side to gain experience with all the aircraft available.
In looking at the layout, it would be nice to have the leader of the upcoming mission to decide ahead of time what the mission target will be and plan accordingly. We had a mix of bombers and fighters covering and picked our targets at random as we flew towards enemy lines. This worked good, especially off the cuff. However, if one person on each side would take the lead, it could be so much the better. We could decide to take out an airfield or other strategic targets, and get in about 3 terrific missions on each fly-night.
The leader would have at least 1 whole week to plan their mission and after the first mission is in the tank, they will have two full weeks to plan their next.
The lack of icons was not the hinderance we feared. It would be nice to have more AI aircraft in the air so the cover force has something to do with their bullets and time.
Thanks, Taipan, I thought it went very well and I appreciated your stepping up to the challenge of running the first mission to give us all a sense of how this can work and personally, I had a great time with it.

We will be discussing the campaign results, opinions and plans going forward with this endeavor.
Due to the "circumstances" of what occurred during our campaign test, this should be a "MUST-ATTEND"
We look forward to all attending, including those who don't yet fly much BOS, as you will have the ability to add
your input and gain important information about the experiences we shared.

Looking forward to seeing you on TeamSpeak at 6:30 Wednesday.

I'll try to have them back up and running by evening.
Thanks for your patience.

Check out the video showing some of the enhancements in testing and training... PLUS, it has my niece sharing information about the system and how it improves our capabilities. She's the cutie Lt. Cmdr near the end of the video.

Go, Bryanna, Ma'am. S!

Merry Christmas everyone and have a safe New Year celebration.

IL_2 Cliffs of Dover / questions about German ammunition loadouts
« on: October 17, 2018, 04:11:49 pm »
When watching a utube video about ammunition loadouts for the German machine guns and cannons,  I've noticed that some of the weapons described and shown in the video do not match those that are available in my IL-2 COD Blitz version.

There are two or three cannons shown in the video that I do not have on my available list and at least one machine gun round.
Any ideas why there is this discrepancy?

IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 / Results from Korea Campaign flown some time back
« on: September 17, 2018, 10:10:33 am »

It has been brought to my attention that the results from our Korean Campaign did not get posted. This is due to one of two things: I likely neglected to post it and/or the website never got updated to reflect it. The prior is most likely the reason, so here the stats are for it. My apologies! And, a huge thank you to Big10, who rattled my cage to get this out. LOL
I appreciate you guys so very much!

Read 'em and weep, boys! Read 'em and weep!
