IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad / Re: TAW starting Sunday, 5/12

OK, finally got signed up for TAW. Wiley talked me into it and he flew my wing as I flew my first initial TAW sortie flying an A-20 on the Russian side. Made in and out of the target area, but the mission ended before we made it back to our home base. Still it was fun, but checked on the TAW site and someone hasn't added me to the AKA squad????????

Glad to see our newly promoted Captain is on the ball.

S! Sir, thank you for your quick response.

IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 / Need some help guys with IL2 1946
« on: June 13, 2019, 10:01:39 am »
Ok, guys here is my problem. Just transitioned over to a new computer. My flight sims are pretty much set in stone. I fly IL2 BoX series, IL2 1946, and DCS as my main goto military flight sims.

IL2 BoX and DCS transitioned over with no major problem and they seem to be running fine.

IL2 1946 is a whole different story. I cannot get it to find or locate my Joystick. Windows detects my stick just fine, otherwise the other two sims would not be working. I have heard that other people have reported problems with IL2 1946 not detecting some of the newer HOTAS systems. I am using the Thrustmaster Warthog.

Anybody have any idea of how to reset the stick and device settings without me reinstalling IL2 1946 completely?

Ok, we can give it shot again next Tuesday. The big issue is the low supply thus suppressing that airfield. Also check our a/c numbers, the guys said we were out of 38's.

We had low numbers of pilots, so consider that combined with the increased AI number of flights. The humans are at a disadvantage. Think of the AI system in that Terminator movie. Once a slide happens with the humans. The downward spiral gets out of hand.

Just a FYI to Rel and Tai,

I think we are going to need to do some more work on the Solomon 43 campaign. We are 2 missions in and the AI is overwhelming. Even at a reduced AI setting.

Mission 2 started with the front line ground base at Segi, unbelievably suppressed. Meaning we need to ferry a/c from the supply base at Russel just to attack anything. 30-40 min flight from Russel to Segi with a C-47, not sitting well with some. Guys just not having fun.

It didn't help that we didn't have a full roster either.

Before you wipe out our supply base. Yes I know it's a long haul to ferry aircraft to the front. But it seems since the AI have been upped they seem to have a bug up their arse and appear to have made it their mission AI life to attack and harrass our front line land base at Segi.

Late in last nights mission we seemed to have completely run out of P-40's at least from Hangtens observations, and I think we started with 32 total at Segi at the mission start. Attrition rates like that mean we will be running out of the top flight A/C rather quickly.

We need to start to maintain a permanent 3-4 aircraft CAP over Segi or we are going to get hammered.

Yeah I was on the practice server last night checking out the map, and yes it was enabled. But I know that the practice mission and the actual campaign mission usually have different settings.

Hopefully they will be the same for tonight.

Is it too much to ask to please turn on the "Show your Aircraft ICON feature in the game map" please.

Even in BOS this feature is enabled, so lets please get out of the stone age in 1946. The hitting smoke to find out where the hell you are on the map is getting old.

Well I think it's safe to say that neither the P-38 or the P-51 are included in this update.

Who is already in the planning group? When do they meet to discuss this issue. Have they already met?

Do we have some sort of a group working on a planeset for our BOS squad campaign?

We really need to get some of these older aircraft into our current map. Merc tried to join us last Friday and his plane choice options were really limited on our current map set. He only has Stalingrad and Moscow, no Kuban, No Bodenplatte. I think on the current German side he could only fly the Stuka. His plane choices on the Russian side we just as bad.

We need to get a fix for this. Having a guy in the squad NOT able to fly is just unacceptable IMHO.

Get a few older birds from Each of the Mapsets into our Both sides Inventories please.

Had a lot of fun with the formation flying otw to Target and landing. Big 10 & Mo you guys fly real well in formation, I am so jealous of the way you guys can do that in VR. Makes me want to upgrade my system so I can go out and buy a VR headset.

I was really impressed with how you guys worked together and called out even your most basic moves verbally. Flaps Full, Gear Down, Add Power, Idle etc.

Glad that by me jumping into your landing formation I didn't screw you guys up. Also Big 10 your bouncy landing was nothing compared to mine.
