IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 / Need some help guys with IL2 1946
« on: June 13, 2019, 10:01:39 am »
Ok, guys here is my problem. Just transitioned over to a new computer. My flight sims are pretty much set in stone. I fly IL2 BoX series, IL2 1946, and DCS as my main goto military flight sims.

IL2 BoX and DCS transitioned over with no major problem and they seem to be running fine.

IL2 1946 is a whole different story. I cannot get it to find or locate my Joystick. Windows detects my stick just fine, otherwise the other two sims would not be working. I have heard that other people have reported problems with IL2 1946 not detecting some of the newer HOTAS systems. I am using the Thrustmaster Warthog.

Anybody have any idea of how to reset the stick and device settings without me reinstalling IL2 1946 completely?

We need to S@#t or get off the pot in making a squad decision on what we are going to do in regards to our AKA Squad only dynamic campaign.

Speaking for myself only, I am done with flying the Russian birds. Next Friday I will be up in Coconuts if we are still flying this current campaign.

New BOS Update 3.010

Just wondering. Got on a few servers last night After the second update. Noticed the flight handling characteristics of the 109F4 seemed somewhat looser, sloppy after this last update.

I fly the F4 varient a lot and I had my stick settings pretty tight and always felt the aircraft was very responsive.

Has anyone else noticed a change?

IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad / AKA BoS servers are down.

FYI to Gos, Scorp and the AKA BoS server admins.

The AKA Campaign servers are down. There were 2 updates to BoS over the last two days. One for about 895mb on Wednesday, and a second update for about 198mb on Thursday. Most likely the servers need to be updated also.

IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 / Just a quick heads up guys
« on: November 03, 2018, 11:10:54 am »
Some of the guys that fly with me regularly during the evenings know that I am waiting on my daughter to give me my 10th grandchild. This one is going to be a Girl (yes we already know), this daughter currently has 3 boys so this will be her 4th and last child. Her due date was Nov. 1 and so far NADA.

She visited her OB doctor this morning and he informed her that if the baby does not come by 6:30pm Sunday evening, she is supposed to go directly to the hospital and they will be inducing labor.

Since this time frame coincides with our regularly scheduled 1946 Carnage, guess where I will be.

And, NO it will not be the cockpit of a P-40E getting my arse shot off by Mo or Big 10.

Just a heads up boy's I may be missing this next campaign mission.

IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad / Dynamic Campaign Manual (Ours and Coconuts)
« on: August 09, 2018, 10:55:16 am »
Hey guys, here is the manual for the dynamic campaign in BoS.

It helps if everyone RTFM.

Been a couple of days now that they have both been down. I know BoS had some updates during that time frame, does our server need to be updated?

Just wondering.

Scorp, I know you did something similar in the AKA Expert server, can you also add more on the normal server?

Never got a chance to talk to anyone on the allied side after tonite's campaign mission to find out if next Fridays scheduled mission on 7/6 is going to happen.

Last word we had was that both Relent and Taipan were going to be unavailable, and Taipan was unsure about Goshawks status. Didn't know if he was going to away and unable to start the server or record the campaign mission.

Let us know so we can inform everyone on the axis side. All of them wish to fly if possible.

IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 / F7F Tigercat for IL2 1946
« on: June 23, 2018, 08:22:37 am »
Hey Guys, not sure if this was posted before on not since it concerns an older mod for 1946 that until now I was not aware that it even existed.

I saw Juggernauts post on visiting a WWII aircraft museum & restoration site in Colorado and saw in one of the pics that they had a F7F Tigercat. Since I really like the twin engine jobs like the P-38, the sleeker varient twin of the F7F was something that I have always wished that the 1946 designers would create the Tigercat for the game.

That got me looking and I discovered that someone did create a mod for this bird in that would work in the 1946 game version and the HSFX mods. The SAS guys apparently did create one back in 2015 and I was not aware of it. According to the readme file it will work in HSFX, and I think it's the version that we currently use.

Here is the link for the download,47963.0.html

Since I really have only version of IL2 1946 on my system, and since I don't want to screw up my game for our campaigns. I was hoping that Relent or Scorp could take a look at this mod and let me know if it is something that we can safely add to our game mod folder in HSFX and maybe utilize in future campaigns.

General Discussion / Saitek X-52 Drivers Link
« on: June 12, 2018, 10:56:37 am »
I was helping out Rage with his X-52 setup and found out that Logitech bought out Saitek and now they have a link for updated drivers. Not sure if everyone saw the link or not so I figured I would post it here.

Scorp, first of all thank you for resetting the campaign map.

Last night me and a few guys were flying on that reset map and there were some odd issues happening. The two easternmost german bases, at Taman and the base just north of it, think it's called Fedorisykaya. Anyway  both of these bases were in friendly german hands at the time we popped in. Taman had about 6500 in supply but no aircraft. The other had about 8000 supply, plus a few aircraft. There was an ongoing tank battle about a grid and a half due east of that northernmost base.

So I took off in a 110 from Fedorisykaya with bombs for the enemy tanks and got a weird message. AKA_Greywolf has escaped from Fedoriskya in an attacker, followed by then another routine AKA_Greywolf has taken off in an attacker message. Then bombed my tanks and landed back at Fedoriskya to get a AKA_Greywolf captured at Fedoriskya message.

Meanwhile, AKA_Wolf took off in a Ju-52 with cargo to resupply Taman and once he got there, he got a message that AKA_Wolf has landed at Taman and the enemy thanks him for the supplies. Definitly something wrong on that map.

Just wanted to let you know and ask if you have heard of any other weird type message happening in the dynamic campaigns. I know you speak to the Coconuts guy regarding these campaigns, maybe you can pick his brain on the issue. Both of these base were in german control, there was absolutely zero enemy targets anywhere near these bases other than the enemy tank battle about 1 1/2 grids east of Fedoriskya.
