I met my monkey, shortly after disembarking the cruise ship at the St. Kitt's port.

General Discussion / For all you dog lovers out there.
« on: March 20, 2017, 05:55:26 pm »
Last year my son who still lives under my roof asked about possibly adopting a dog. It had been a year since I had to put my 16 y/o Siberian Huskey down. It was tough decision on my part as with my age and how I got so attached to that Siberian, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go through all that attachment thing and how it would work out. But, my wife talked me into it and I said yes. So last February, my son Sean filled out an application to adopt a 10 month old, Australian Blue Heeler. The dog is totally deaf, but that didn't matter to my son. He did his homework on the breed and learned how to deal with a dog with that type of impairment. His adoption application was accepted and we drove out to Racine Wisconsin to pick him up and bring him home.

Tyson, thats his dog's name and Sean are now practically inseparable. Last March/April my wife and I took a long road trip out west to visit relatives in Las Vegas, Sean and Tyson tagged along and he was a great dog in the car right from the start. We stopped along the way in Houston as the Texan's are my sons favorite team, went to a White Sox spring training game, visited the Grand Canyon, and had a great time in Vegas. Even stopped at Meteor Crater on the way home. All in all it was great trip.

Well it been over a year now and Tyson has become part of the family. When Sean is at work, or out of the house Tyson is usually bothering me to throw him frisbees, balls or anything he can chase and catch. Or when I'm flying he trys to curl up by my feet which makes working my flight pedals a down right hard task.

My son posted a video of him and Tyosn on You Tube and I thought I would share it with all my squad mates.

IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 / Questions re: Upcoming Italy Campaign
« on: December 01, 2016, 08:53:51 am »
Not sure who to ask about this, but need to know about two things.

1. Is it possible to use the 1946 Op-Ord forum for this upcoming campaign? I know its in the members only area of the forum, but is it to difficult to lock out those AKA members who are flying on the AI side. It would make getting out the SitRep and Battleplans easier for us, rather than depending on emails.

2. Is it possible to add two additional channels to the Allied Teamspeak channels? If so, can we add a Delta and Echo to the existing Alpha, Bravo and Charlie?

Thats all my questions.

General Discussion / I may have found our XO Taipans hidden secret

This may explain his odd penchant for animals (sheep, goats, cats and rats!), anyone else notice the resemblance to the "Coach" character in this newly discovered historic documentary. I think this guy might have been Taipan's long lost old mentor.

General Discussion / Anybody in the squad play Fantasy Football?
« on: August 23, 2016, 07:18:48 pm »
Just wondering??  I have been playing for years now and never asked any other squad mates if they play.

If there would be any interest in starting up a AKA League. With the NFL season about to start this would be a good time to set one up.

IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 / Korea practice map w/correct aircraft
« on: December 16, 2015, 08:51:17 pm »
I know Relent is still working on the new map for the upcoming Korea campaign, but there is a Korea map already up on our practice server. Is there a way to possibly add in the aircraft that we will be using in the campaign. I think that we are missing some a/c on that current map.

It would be nice to get used to some of those a/c and the load-outs. I know that the A-20G is not in there, and Thrud mentioned that the Yak 9 was not there. There may be others that are missing.

Also for what it's worth, I did some testing on that map with the Bomb load's on fighter a/c like the F4U1-C. Set my bomb delay one time but changed load-outs and subsequent sorties ....... no problems and the bomb delay stayed intact. As soon as I went to a Bomber aircraft like the B-25, thats when the bomb delay problem raised its ugly head.

Just a heads up for Rel.

IL_2 Cliffs of Dover / Wiley - Saturday June 7 Availability
« on: June 05, 2014, 08:44:05 am »
Wiley, I checked with the wife and she has a few things that will consume my Saturday morning and early afternoon. I probably won't be able to get on-line until around 4 or 5 pm central time. Will that still work?
