IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 / Re: Burma 1944/45 Campaign
« on: June 13, 2016, 06:41:14 am »
Hey Rel, any word on the progress of the rough airfield fixes yet?

Yesterday flew a bit from the blue supply base and the field was almost unflyable. If you get an a/c up you almost cannot land it without nosing it over and destroying the aircraft.

Came in with a zeke very slow approach about 100mph on landing touched down gently and still rolled the a/c over. Then the plane caught fire andit would have been a total loss on our campaign server.

If this cant be fixed, the blue side will go through planes like water.

Sully, thanks for posting this. I was not previously aware of this. Very touching, a nice honor and gesture from one of our America's greatest allies.

Thanks Agile for posting on this and Thanks Rel for the quick reply. I am somewhat in the same boat as Agile on this and similar needs. Jericho as said that he would be willing to act as my second on the days I would not be there, but Im not sure how the sides are going to be selected so Jer might not even be on my side. So I will need a second for doing some of these movements.

Also I will be out of town from June 17th though June 26th. So hoping that the campaign would not start until at least the 1st of July.

General Discussion / Re: Breaking free of current Anti Virus
« on: March 29, 2016, 05:44:16 pm »
TG, I have used Avast for years on my computer and on my wife's computer. My computer is pretty much secure as in the kiddies are not allowed to play on my system. My wife on the other hand allows the grandkids to play on her system and she also goes to these goofy shopping coupon sites and internet game sites.

She occasionally picks up a virus, I on the other hand have no problems other than having to clean out her system a few times a year. She is also not quite as good as regularly updating her virus definitions.

So Avast does get nailed but it depends on the users and how well they maintain their systems. Hope this helps.

Tai,  Open both eyes please. What tie? Burma is kicking Italys arse.

Jer, there were Buffalos in Burma? I thought Taipans sheep ate all thier food and they died off!

Also Rel, you did see Buckys message about being assigned to a side for this next half of our Korean campaign. I think Bucky is looking to fly on the North Korean side. At least thats what I hope for anyway. I sort of gave him secure info on a one of Jerichos plans, so in order to protect that info I reccomend that you put him on the dark side. Or Jericho will spend most of this next campaign making me pay for my sin.

Before I vote on a campaign choice, someone please let me know which campaign offers the P-38. I don't want to hear ... Sorry Grey, the P-38 is not available until following year in this campaign. Rel sort of alluded to the Burma of 44/45. That would mean J's and L's. What time frame we looking at for the Italian campaign?

Rel,

I was just doing some browsing in regards to aircraft included in hsfx mods and saw that the Grumman F7F Tigercat was an aircraft included in hsfx. Since that A/C did see action in Korea is there a way to include it in our campaign. Maybe as a replacement for either the F4U D or C model, since we currenly have both?

Also if it is available why was it not included?

Well since I'm brand new to this I also can decide just yet. I am also not a fan of the russian A/C, I would much prefer American A/C. Before joining AKA, I was part of a German squad so I think I will like the german A/C but right now I can't figure out how to get in one to test it out unless I go into a multiplayer room.

Not sure who the Fk tard MrX is yet, but if he is on MoGas's S#@# list then I will probably not like him either.

Mo,

OMG, thank you for all your help in getting me setup with this game. From an old guys perspective, this game is a PITA to setup and without Mo's assistance I was at my wits end and about to walk away from the sim. MoGas had the patience to walk me thru the entire setup of my controllers and a lot of my problems were because of multiple conflicts with those devices.

I know that I subjected poor Bucky to a verbal onslaught of what I thought of the games developers and designers. I'm still in the wait and see catagory as to how I feel about the game, but for now I do feel a little bit better because I can at least get an aircraft up off the ground.

1st impresssions, Visually the game is stunning with a good graphic card and the right system requirements it does look good. I personally feel the developers went WAY, WAY, WAY overboard in regards to engine management. Very similar to what they did in CLOD, which will be a big turnoff for those IL2-1946 diehards which prefer a simplified engine management style. Personally, I think this is going to come down to some people (server hosts) will have to make adjustments (concessions) towards a much more simplified engine management style if they expect more people to fly this game. Again thats just from my perspective so don't get pissed at me for making that initial assessment.

The bouncy, bouncy while taxi'ng to the end of the runway is also over modeled and needs to be fixed with an update IMHO, also the bouncing on landing is also way overmodeled.

But at least I'm airborne.

IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 / Korea practice map w/correct aircraft
« on: December 16, 2015, 08:51:17 pm »
I know Relent is still working on the new map for the upcoming Korea campaign, but there is a Korea map already up on our practice server. Is there a way to possibly add in the aircraft that we will be using in the campaign. I think that we are missing some a/c on that current map.

It would be nice to get used to some of those a/c and the load-outs. I know that the A-20G is not in there, and Thrud mentioned that the Yak 9 was not there. There may be others that are missing.

Also for what it's worth, I did some testing on that map with the Bomb load's on fighter a/c like the F4U1-C. Set my bomb delay one time but changed load-outs and subsequent sorties ....... no problems and the bomb delay stayed intact. As soon as I went to a Bomber aircraft like the B-25, thats when the bomb delay problem raised its ugly head.

Just a heads up for Rel.

S!
