FYI,

Somethings up with the practice/campaign server. Been trying to connect for two evenings now. I get to the login screen ok, and it asks for the login password. But does not connect.

Just wanted to make sure you guys are aware.

IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 / Re: P-40E bomb delay sucks!
« on: January 21, 2015, 09:32:38 am »
This may sound stupid, but after you set your bomb delay to 4 seconds, and hit apply .........  Do you go back into the arming screen to double check what you set?

If so, do you AGAIN RETYPE back in the 4 second bomb delay, and hit apply again. Or do you just visually confirm what you put in that 1st time and then just hit the apply button?

Rel told me once before, that whenever you go back into the arming screen ....... for whatever purpose (change fuel, change gun convergence, change load out) you need to manually retype in the desired bomb delay. Each and every time. Once I started to do that, all my bomb delay problems went away.

Just a thought.

IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 / Re: Saturday Night Practice for Sunday Campaign
« on: January 14, 2015, 08:31:59 am »
FiveIron,

I'm retired now, so I get up online and fly on the IL2 practice maps most evenings. Usually myself, TG, Rage, Ramstein, and Gunslinger are up for a few hours on most evenings around 7:00 central time. We all usually linkup on TS and shoot the @#$% and maybe a few AI at the same time. So your welcome to meet up and fly anytime you have some spare time.

I would be up for that also, it would be a good way to practice a game plan prior to the Sunday night mission.

AKA_SilverDevil,

Welcome aboard, nice to meet you and I look forward to flying with you. I've been flying with some of these guys for over 20 years now and like you I'm over 50, Actually I'm 62 now. The guys in the squad are a nice bunch, we do have few that might take a "little"  :o  getting adjusted to (watch out for our CO and his obsession with sheep  ::) ), but overall they are a great group of guys. We even have a couple of guys in the squad who actually flew some of these warbirds in real life. AKA_Wayno and AKA_Duck come to mind right away.

AKA_Goshawk and AKA_Taipan need to get you up and running with our campaign on Friday and Sunday evenings with IL2 1946.

Look forward to chatting with you on Teamspeak.

Rel, no apologies needed, especially in light of all that you do to keep these campaigns up and running. I think everyone understands that sometime s#it just happens.

Tai, I hope the Sgt. Major doesnt take note of your dropping the ball though! You do know how understanding and compassionate he is regarding things like that. He may take a sheep or two away from you as punishment.

From the tail number on that P-38, it looks like it's 23 Skidoo out of the Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, CA.

Also here's a link to the 475th Fighter Group museum which from what I can tell, appears to be within the Planes of Fame Air Museum itself: http://www.475th.org/home/the-p38/about-the-p38

Not sure who owns the actual aircraft, I think it's privately owned.

IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 / Re: Squadron Security on this Forum?
« on: July 22, 2014, 02:25:18 pm »
Wayno, I think the only true squadron only secure area to post strategy ideas and such is in the AKA Officers Club. I think that's the only real secure, squadron only area we have.

This area you posted in, and in which I am replying, is not a secure area.

Wiley, I checked with the wife and she has a few things that will consume my Saturday morning and early afternoon. I probably won't be able to get on-line until around 4 or 5 pm central time. Will that still work?
