IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad / Dynamic Campaign Manual (Ours and Coconuts)

Hey guys, here is the manual for the dynamic campaign in BoS.

It helps if everyone RTFM.

I think it's going to be a mixture of Human and AI on each side. Since it's a dynamic campaign, each sides AI should be doing what it normally does on the maps we have flown and you can see their activity on the map ie... Patrol @ 2000, Attackers @ 2000.  What will be different will be the human aspect won't show up unless the enemy aircraft is located near one of our bases. Then you should still see the red ring around a base. If it happens and you do not see an Attackers or Patrol nearby ... good indicator that it will be a human.

Just my thoughts on the matter. Now to see how many guys show up and which side they prefer to fly on.

I have Stalingrad premium edition, Moscow standard edition and Boddenplate premium so far. Waiting on price drop for Kuban.

Collector planes are:

P-40 E

Scorp, that is great news about the aircraft. I agree with the a/c from Stalingrad & Moscow with a few from Kuban would be a good start.

Any thoughts on including some of the newly available a/c from Boddenplate on a very limited basis just so we can test them out in a multiplayer setting?

Thinking about the A-8 and the Spit 9. Maybe 1 or 2 only from the supply base in the rear.

Not sure where your going with the postings on the plane sets Scorp as you offered no explanation to us user type. (Rel, you know I can't pass up the opportunity to Tron Bash IL2  :o) It's a Typical Tron like Master Server posting  ;D

In my litle mind, I see your post as what aircraft are typically available in each mapsets (Default Planeset). Am I in the right ballpark with that thought?

Not sure what the Static # is for those planesets? Is that the default # of that aircraft type available at each active airfield?

Assuming I'm close with those thoughts, is there a way to expand on each individual default planesets and numbers? On whatever map you choose to utilize?

Since I am a human, I can't see either side just throwing away perfectly good aircraft because the newer models suddenly became available. So tossing out the 109-F2's, F4's and E7's doesn't make sense to me. It was just easier for the Sturmovik developers to put the new planesets, with the new Game versions. ie... Stalingrad, Moscow, Kuban and Boddenplate.

Stating that fact, if your going to build our own dynamic campaign ...... how hard is it to customize it?  Can we add some of the available Boddenlate A/C that have been released. I realize that some of those a/c would drastically change the battle tactics, but if we put a limiter in the campaign that cannot be changed. Just tossing out an idea here.

Regarding what Recon posted. Our version of the Normal server is good with 90% of the guys that usually fly in it. So IMHO, it's fine as is. Guys that don't like it can go fly in the expert server. Our's or Coconuts, I don't care since they probably won't fly in it.

My understanding is the normal practice time posted on our server is 5:30 - 8:30 pacific time.

This was our normal 1946 practice date/times. Thats what I think this BoS night is going to replace.

Am I wrong?

Just flew in the normal campaign this morning for a bit, I see the AI is a bit more aggressive and there is more of them. This will be a tougher go, best to work with a wingman. Would still like to see the Fw190-A3. I think the work you do to keep this up and running is great.

Nice job Scorp.

Recon, if you found a way for players to host coop missions. Let us know. I know that both myself and TG would be highly interested how to make it happen. We have tried numerous times but we keep getting connection error messages.

Thanks again Scorp for all the work and dedication you put into this for us.

Also as long as I am asking for the moon.  :o

Is there a way you can add the Fw190-A3 and maybe the P-39L to the planesets on the Normal map. Maybe add others that you think may be appropriate also.

Been a couple of days now that they have both been down. I know BoS had some updates during that time frame, does our server need to be updated?

Just wondering.

In our AKA BoS Dynamic Campaign server, both on the Expert and Normal (Kidde Pool) they have tank battles happening all over on the map.

You dont have to fly planes, you can drive tanks and still contribute to which ever side you happen to be on.

These are the little things that I have found out from some of the guys that dont fly BoS  regularly or fly in the Campaign server dont know about.

Again proves the need for the kiddie pool and the need to have a relaxed setting to get together as friends and learn the games in's and out's.

Last night we even had Jericho up and I had a chance to wing for a bit with my old friend Clutter.

Do not disable the F4 view for while aircraft are on the ground though. If there is a way keep this as it will aid is guys being able to taxi around the airfield without running into things. I't the kiddie pool after all.

Scorp, OK thanks for looking into it for us. The AKA server has been down for Stalingrad both expert and normal. Wasn't sure what was going on.

I know IL 2 Sturmovik's TRON-like master server  :o that coordinates with all the other server overlords seems to hold the game hostage at times.

S! Grey

Scorp, I know you did something similar in the AKA Expert server, can you also add more on the normal server?

Regarding externals, I think there must be a setting to turn them off once the aircraft is airborne. With the issue on ground looping being such a pain in the arse, a lot of guys use that one external view, thinks it's F4 by default to manuever on the ground. It definitely provides a much improved view of the ground view while taxiing around the field. Guys don't hit the windsock or the runway searchlights often when the use that view.

I also agree with Goshawk, quite a few are waiting on more of the American birds to become available. I pray that this time the developers do not screw up those birds. If they pork that P-38, they will lose customers.
