Pretty fun. Loaded up a BF109E4B / 73% fuel / full ammo/ 4 50kg bombs. Took off from Tangmere- thinking first we were CAP- but then loadedbombs on for a run up towards Redhill. In the loading up- missed it on comms that Bucky was coming up from Farmsborough. Climbed out- looking to meet with Bucky- was found by Stetcher and Tepes. They guided me to an obscure- difficult to spot from more than 1500m crook in some rivers- W of Redhill. Was directed to drop on a factory building next to some factory stacks. Armed bombs- dove at a deep angle- dropped from about 500m- direct hit- fires. Pulled out- climbed and met Bucky near Maidstone. Had taken aaa fire on my bomb run- so had no airspeed or altimeter gauges. Bucky made a drop- or thought he did- later looked at stats and saw no bomb loaded- but fun practice run anyhow. Flew back S past Wilmington- then W up the coast towards Tangemere- where others were reporting enemy fighters. Got to the area- immediately got  hit by enemy fire-wounded bad- dove and made an emergency landing at Tangemere. Looks like  I landed with 2 of my 50kg bombs still with me-hehe. Some script.

- Power plant No. 7 in sector AO24 was hit by an air attack and has been shut down.Enemy broadcasts report a massive fire has spread into the nearby town, causing the death of 1 civilians. Observers blame Axis_AKA_Blasto|Detonation
11.42 - Axis_AKA_Blasto gets back to base in sector AJ20.
11.42 - Axis_AKA_Blasto is moved to the hospital. The surgeon on call checks him and then leaves him to nervous and inexperienced students, who stitch and bandage the wound in his left lung...
11.42 - Axis_AKA_Blasto returns his Bf-109E-4B#04 to the AXIS base in sector AJ20. Unloads a total of 2,120 rounds of ammo, 2 bombs. His Bf-109E-4B#04 can't fly due to 13 damaged systems

Great fun. Will get up to speed and have to be added to the Axis side. had to fly under Axis_AKA_Blasto- whatever. I'm in for Sunday. Love jabo runs.

Sounds great Bucky! Didn't make it home in time - well did- but family matters take precedence and I hosted a great group of friends so no flying. I can make Wed. mission- and will try to get in 30 min. early to re-fresh on the rules- and set up my gear again correctly. Thanks for the update Bucky. See you Wed.

Missed last night- date  / movie night. I propose we fly for the Luftwaffe side as Stetcher stated. I mentioned in passing- to I think Hackl- that AKA had been flying 109's and German bombers in SOW- and would most likely integrate easily into the Blue side. That said- if others would prefer to fly for the Allies- this is the time to hash this out. In fact I had tried to join the Blue side one night almost 3 weeks ago and got kicked- only to find out later that AKA was signed up to fly Allied.
I vote for flying for the German side- and can commit - for the most part- to Wednesdays- and to some Sundays- if not most. Organized - well done campaigns are not easy to find- yet there  is the one death rule. This does make for a more serious approach- which is mostly good. Those who say crash on take-off- or take a flack hit after a 45 min flight may feel the pain and start to gripe- but remembering FS from years ago- such was the case.
I think its about time to dust off our gear- grease the throttle lever- and take to the virtual skies of Cliffs of Dover yet again. In my opinion- if we fly Luftwaffe- we join some of the best online WW2 sim pilots there are. I'm out of town Sunday- but if back in time- I will join up and fly. That is if we have decided  which side to fly for. Look forward to seeing some of you guys online soon!

Rgr that Sully. I butchered 2 hogs last year- and three this year. The hog's shoulder blade comes down farther back than you'd think- and some of the larger- more armored ones- the bone is thicker- as one can easily discern once you cook , smoke it, or just de-bone it-and actually look at it.. Off angle shots can not necc. richocet but the damage is less than you'd think. But for certain- that boney plate is no match for almost any well placed shot- or larger caliber. That said- Sully you are Achille's with the bow- and the beast trembles when they hear you afoot- or most import. , don't hear you- until its too late. I picked up two pieces of arrows while walking out there- and saw many more. The bow would be fun- and maybe even crossbow.
I'd have to say the spine is quite large- and takes a great deal of effect to split it-I used a 18V cordless sawzall on it-  which shows how solid they are. But nothing gets away from a .308 semi- soft tip. Good hunting Sully.  Great to hear from you all- hears to you .

Hey Wardogs. Its been awhile- in fact Dec. 22nd , 2016. The last SoW night. With Christmas , the end of a great Storm of War campaign, and work , New years , etc. - I haven't flown a single sortie. Been working 7 days a week- np - and just last week aligned schedules so I could dip out of state and again chase some feral hogs down in Oklahoma. 13 Northmen - aka Minnesotans - descend on an approx. 200 acre hog ranch- and chase hogs in and out of woods , fields , fence lines, coolies ( dangerous) , and anywhere these tasty destructive hogs go.
This year I brought a M1916 Short barrel Spanish Mauser  / orig. chambered in 7mm - but was re-chambered in approx. 1960 by the Spanish military to the NATO round - 7.62 x 51 ( .308 Win). Again I decided on old school iron sights, and carried one of my .45's - a Glock 41 long slide with hot rounds. Got three of the hogs- all boars- and harvested 52 lbs., 53.5 lbs , and 87 lbs.- respectively- from these swine. One heart shot ( found the heart blown off its arteries inside the chests cavity) from about 80meters - one behind the ear shot - standing after a short chase- quick shot - down immed. - and then another approx. 70-80m shot thru some underbrush and a very small opening- belly / rib shot -then finished it with another to the head in close - about 20 M.
Good fun- very interesting to see how many hogs are running crazy down south - imo- were they here in Minnesota- we'd have killed most of them- farmed the remainder- and started a pig leather business. Everyone got 3- some 4 - and we left the ranch with 48 cleaned and bagged pigs- to be butchered and smoked, roasted, made into sausages , jerkies, and devoured. Its about time for a modern rifle next year- for I had some long shots I could have taken- but with the shorty carbine- decided to wait and hunt in close. One pix with my Kraut $ss checking out a boar - killed with a heart shot- dropped dead on the spot. Good times. Note the "pussy-pad" I had my tailor sew onto my blaze-orange vest- from a 1940's era cowhand ranch coat collar- saved the sheepskin from that busted coat and re-purposed for firing 3.5 in 12gauge magnum rounds over and over. Love it. Take care guys. Tony

Hey Bucky. I just read this again too. Kind of miss SOW. Ive been working 7 days- and having some Minnesota winter outdoor fun. ice fishing ( barbecue) , went down to Oklahoma and hunted wild boar - got three of them with my M1916 Spanish Short-barrel Mauser- chambered by the Spanish in 1960 in NATO 7.62x51 (.308Win). Iron sights- big holes in those hogs. Great fun- kind of dangerous again. Ill tell you about it sometime-always a story. Its fun hunting with iron sights on a 101 yr old rifle- those feral hogs had no chance.
Ill try to get online and fly some ATAG this week- Ill look for you Buck. Until then....God speed!   8)

Edit: Took this boar from about 80 meters -heart shot - found the heart blown off its arteries inside the chest cavity- arrrg.

Ram- when fighting a cold- keep your weight balanced on the balls of your feet. Move fast only when needed- and hold fast and steady when it stares you down. Keep your resolve strong- and remember to strike like the tiger- fast and with power ( lemon oil and Tiger Balm- lol) Retreat is not an option- yet to regroup and strengthen your position is wise. Prepare your retaliatory strike quickly- lest the cold itself finds you lax and idle. Move your position often- and when at rest- keep your sentry alert- for your foe knows when to strike. Fight with heart and purpose-and be light of heart- and your sword will find its mark. Be strong and remember AKA is counting on you- hold the line until the end of days- for there may be no reprieve. Odin will call your name in the great halls of Valhalla- and the Gods of Advil and Robitussin await your prayers and sacrifices. Skol.

It was great to see AKA up last  night! Mogas showed up- great to see him , Hangten , Bucky and myself. Also, 3/JG51 squad joined comms - Hackl, Tepes, Stetcher, Stachl - along with Badger and Jaydog at the end. I think everyone got guns on enemy. ( Except for Jay...)
Good fun- and fun escort and bomber / fighter intercept. The 71st was also up gtrolling for us- to bad it was just Mo and I up against 8 outbound bombers and 6 71st fighters! We still got a couple of those bombers and both survived. Until next time- thanks guys. That's what its all about right there. Longish escorts- sudden battle -and then long navigation home. AKA always gathers a group- both friendly- and enemy. Good vector also to the enemy group post escort- nice move- they paid for that.

Hey Rel. No- they didn't return the aircraft. In fact- I think it was Bucky's favorite- Ol' Lucky 711...oops...  :-[
Nothing I could do about it though- and I'm greateful just to have my persona intact at this point. Ill have to polish up Bf109E3 No. 692 for him. She shoots straight- sexy as hell - and will bring you home. Just like a good woman...hehe Until next time...wish you guys well.

It went good and bad. Storm of War has just a couple weeks left- so I'm trying to get as much stick time as I can.
Took off right at mission restart- no one else in the server- our AI raid coming in about an hour. Climbed out to French Point then over towards England- 7km. Got a wild hair- thinking - screw it- theres no one around- so I dove down and shot every one of the barrage balloons at Dover and Folkstone- nine in total. Small burnt left aileron- fast back to France- got near Bologne- decided to re-arm / replane there. Perfect landing. Mags off- etc- go out- uh-oh -cant replane- clock is ticking now 1 min- I quick jump back into my cockpit- re-start my lightly damaged BF109E3- and take-off into the wind- pulling flaps back up as I go. lol Beautiful. Badger joins comms- I land at Liegescourt in under 5-6 min.
I re-plane and take off again in an E3- heading to rally with Badger at Cape Griz Nez. In about 5 min. he calls out a contact on radar inbound to France at about 6.5km. I spot the bogie- notice- almost at the last second- that its turned now into me hard and fast. I zoom in- Spitfire- still turning- not quite head on- I pull 10-15 degrees lead- off angle-head-on'ish- fire 14 cannon and 20 machine gun- blew off his left wing. I zoom and check 6 and aircraft status-np. With solid ammo and fuel- Badger now joins me at the point.
I propose we then take a mid-channel sweep down towards Wilmington- stating that its about time for a inbound raid. We chat and fly along for about 6 min.- then he calls out 9 Blennies at 11 oclock. I look and instead see not just the 9 Blennies- but 4 escort -high on their 6. Badger has lead- he says he's in on the Spitties- which break into 2's rt away. I think to myself- these aren't rookie AI. He makes a pass- misses- then picks up two- the other two are close- but not that close- I get in tight and fast behind the ones on him- shoot one with machine guns- and then really pound the lead plane- using lots of machine gun- and cannons in close. Lead smokes and death spirals down- I hit another as it tries to find Badger again- damage No. 3- they get back on Badger as hes now on the Bleenies- his run ends with him running into a bomber. AS I was trying to catch him- I blow my rads- dang- and then climb whil I can. The enemy group continues on- I glide for 14 min. to the French coast and dead stick my aircraft to Berk. Whew!
I hear Badger now is up from Poix Nord- hes found the bomber group. he then dives out- shot up- he dead sticks back to his field. lol
I'm now up- roaring at max climb- 7 min. later- I'm at 4km- spot 4 Bleenies rtb- over the Somme. I engage- using fast- in close bursts- blow the hell out of two of them with all guns- and then work on the last 2 with machine guns- dodging their bs gunners that touch mef up- but not too bad. No vis. damage- I knock out the last two's engines- and let them go near le Crotoy / W of Abville. All four went down. Not bad for two of us- all bombers down- I got 4 bombers- 2 Spitfire's and 2 damaged Spifires.
Feeling like this has been a blast- I roll over inverted and break back to rtb to Liegecourt to land and call it a night- but then....
"Launcher error" . Come on. Not now. Most of the time. So be it. But not right now! Not right after all that-come on.
I post a bs post on the Luftwaffe forum- then 30 min. later- deleted it- after my testosterone and adrenaline subsided abit. I turned off my computer, made myself a chamomile tea, small one with honey and lemon, and picked up one of my recent finds at the used book store - England: A concise history.
This a.m I looked on the site- and my persona was restored. Not the aircraft- but at least mylife. Maybe somewhere one of SOW's excellent admins saw fit to give a brother a hand- deserving or not. So- there you have it Matte. Just another super fun- super intense- and somewhat calming early flight in the Storm of War- mid-week PM.

Hey hey. Tonight it looks like its time for a little SoW! Triple points and triple the fun await. We have a full contingent of aircraft available at both Crepon and Liegescourt. I flew a 2 transport sorties Mon. eve- bringing in the 2 E3's I lost Sunday- ouch.
Flew a third sortie with Badger- quickly found a large raid of Wellingtons near Calias-shot down two before getting hit hard- glided back to I think Calais Coquelle. The damaged airframe has ben repaired and guns recalibrated.
Tonight- earlier than usual for me ( unless the wife has "plans" for me- in which case Ill be a bit later)- and join up on AKA SoW comms. Hope to see some of you there! And bring your battle face with- its going to be a blast-oh!
