I keep hurting my foot and it will never heal if I keep trying to use it, so I have to stop flying for a while.. the ligaments are badly torn... and they were getting better, but I was walking a bit and working around the house and the healing I thought was going well stopped and it got worse again...

sorry gang...

TeamSpeak and Overwolf (Overwolf caused my joystick to have problems). I had to uninstall Overwolf TeamSpeak addon that comes with TS (option to load it while updating TeamSpeak.) It caused many of my key commands to screw up. if any of you have noticed  problems if you installed that option?

I have some photos up on my Facebook pages

I haven't taken photos of many things yet, the orchards, the river (with fish).. until my foot heals from a bad fall, it's just too hard to walk in that area.. maybe I can next week..

for right now you can see a few photos... I actually have thousands of slides and photos.. and will setup something soon..

the morning had a grey cloud cover, with hot orange ball rising.. the foggy bogs, wetlands surrounding the air fields, on the outside of the leather and fur... with the sound of aircraft being prepped, and started.. Chow was hot, and the latest chit-chit is about the coming days and what will intensify as more waves of enemy planes, in ceasless pounding waves of fire and death ... and only broken with several hours of alert time with thoughts of how long before we go home.. Until then, the briefing comes, then hours of strenuous activity and the opportunity to stop the enemy and send them home, never to return... another day.... repeat, .. repeat...

Well, everything was going good,, I cleared a lot of overgrown brush, bushes, trees... all was well, got my software up to date,, got anew router.. and then yesterday I took a bad fall on a wet floor.. x-rays only show a bad sprain,, left foot... swollen,, I have to wear a brace for a while... so, I don't think I will fly much for a few more days...

imagine that,, I cleared a lot of land of weds, shrub,,, etc ,,, moved across states... and a wet floor almost kills me..

DCS Series Flight Sims / Re: Steam sale - 70% off
« on: September 17, 2013, 08:56:09 am »
I'm running it at 1600x900 but have tried everything from 1280x768 to 1920x1080.  In IL2 and CoD a lower resolution makes spotting other AC easier but it doesn't make much difference in DCS.

In DCS with the P51 at 1 nM I cannot spot aircraft without the labels.  If I zoom in on them, knowing where they are because of the labels, I can just make them out, using the normal view setting and looking around I would never find them.

I have been flying flight sims for over 18 years and have been able to come up with settings that work in every other sim but DCS has me stumped.  I don't like labels but for me DCS it's a waste of time and an exercise in frustration without them.

I agree, it's hard to see the aircraft most of the time.. I went through lots of settings, spent lots of time checking my rig.. and came to the same conclusion, it just seems to be the way it is.. even with a large screen, still hard to find and see and keep track of..

two different software engines, separate teams.. but you can probably see the preview just by flying DCS... for the DCS stuff... not sure if CLOD could be said of that being a preview for that WWII sim...

Just upgraded to $100 as well.

Throwing a B-17 into the mix really was a great idea - a flyable B-17 on release... wow

Might take me 2 years to learn it :)

Also, I have the p51 now, it shakes alot - wondering if it's my settings I don't see that on utube videos
it should not be shaking.... can't think of what setting could make it shake,,, and the engines is built really well, not easy to blow up like the Spit in CLOD...

My camera battery is dead, ordered a new ones, but here are photos taken with my cheap tablet...
the place is a mess with boxes everywhere, and we are in the process of clearing overgrown greenery,, the neighbor is bringing over a tractor to help
clear the jungles... forest of brush and wed..

the river is on the other sides of some orchards and trees a couple hundred feet from our doorstep..

anyways here are a few photos, not sure how many I can upload here..
