IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad / ZETEXY CHANNEL
« on: September 01, 2018, 01:14:17 pm »
You guys probably watched some of this already.
Just in case you have not, ZETEXY seems to really bring out the 'eye candy'  aspect of BOS, (almost like a BOS movie.)
To see all of them in a list go into utube search and enter
ZETEXY CHANNEL

The one below is for P40

I enjoy watching this stuff when it is well made :)

Thanks Scorp , Rel,

We flew in the campaign last night. It was operating nicely and the sense I got was "wow this is really moving along!"

Great work so far!

Thanks for all the hard work guys!

I think if Icons are allowed in the beginning, eventually the all guys will agree to turning them off in the not too distant future, after they get some kiddie training in.

Thing is, no icons makes for a completely different game , a far more immersive one.. The choices a pilot makes depends on his eyesight and ability to turn his head on a swivel. note that in bos flying alone without icons is suicide. Surviveability goes up dramatically with icons but it is not realistic.

Some of us have difficulty, yes, but I do believe that aka bos will eventually have 'no icons', simply because of the gaming difference that it creates. No icons is far more immersive (and actually less boring) than icons.

Having said that, I agree with start out easy.  We got guys here who are still just powering up their planes and figuring out how to fly them. Its a lot to learn.

I'm ok and on board with any BOS campaign or coops that are up.
Obviously I have the game and like it immensely. Yes, there are problems with some of the aircraft and some of the viewing ability of incoming air threats is so realistic that a lot of guys would be outright discouraged by it.

Thing is, full real means a very high resolution monitor AND really good eyeglasses and even with those two I still can't figure out my opponents energy state because I cant even tell which way he is banking until within 1 km  Max visual is 10 km, 6 miles.
Here's the thing, you would expect that from a single aircraft but a formation of bombers escorted by fighters??

Still I am totally in, except for TAW, Ill keep my reasons for that to myself ;)

Nasty stuff that oil too. Must have been horrible fighting to keep it in the air.

I wish I could help Red. :(

Probably no help but Does Moscow require first installing BOS? Does Bos work without Moscow first?

IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 / Re: Friday/Saturday 1946 nights again
« on: March 20, 2018, 06:03:27 pm »
I have to say I like 1946 even though its outdated and arcade like by todays standards.
But one thing always impresses me about 1946 and thats its stability. No issues , hours of game play and nary a glitch.

I sure wish BOS was evolving faster than it currently is. I think the reason we all aren't getting into it more is that for a lot of us older timers the game play in some of the servers basically sucks most of the time. We really don't have the tools to make and host our own missions and campaigns yet.
I hope that changes soon with bodenplate.

Sully , when you get your rig set up and working please let me know how you were able to get a copy of the OS.
Thats the one thing that made my last build very difficult.

Thanks in advance
