I am holding off on the Mig 19 as well.  A combination of Razbam needing to get the Mirage and Harrier in a more complete state before I spend more money with them and the fact that there is only a few servers that this plane will be good on (really only the cold war server), along with me devoting more time to the A-10 and the F-14 when it comes out.  I am hoping in the future with the addition of some other aircraft there can be some more flushed out late 50's, 60's and 70's servers and campaigns.  The Syria map will make a lot of this possible, but I am wondering where is the Vietnam or Korea maps..

DCS Series Flight Sims / Re: TGP for Hornet soon

Nice, I am happy they are adding some solid functionality, that said we need real IFF for the Hornet to really shine.

I have tried.  When I go to AIM-9s I set the TGP to AA mode, but no one has wandered into the picture.  I would say it would work if for Helicopters or slow aircraft that you knew were in a specific area but outside of that IMO it would be dangerous to try and use it to lock a fighter or attack aircraft, MK1 eyeball works much better.

I got my first A2A kill in an A-10 online over the weekend, made me smile   :)

Looks like they have resolved the issue.

But you need a new version of the plane.

There are a couple that are on again off again, The best IMO is the "Georgian Spring 1955" server that the 71st guys have, it has AI in it so you dont need an opposition.  There is also the "KOREA! 1952" server, I have not flown that one.

There is also the "Cold War 1947 - 1991" server that has a mix of missions, usually the best fighters are F-5 and Mig-21's.  This is a fun server and can have lots of PvP action.

I like the early stuff, it just does not get as much action as the modern servers.

Something I never knew, In the F-18 the IFF Staus is only accurate if the target is in the pitch ladder!  Also seems that over 30 miles it is hit or miss...

There are a bunch of Harrier fixes as well, there were issues with Auto bomb drop, rearming of ATGM's that would not allow for the cage uncage to work and FPS issues related to MFD windows staying open even though you could not see them.

Yeah Ram I am seeing some weirdness with the F-18 Radar as well.  On Sunday when I flew BF a little I didn’t see it, but last night I flew a training mission I have and it was very obvious that the radar was having a hard time picking up contacts.  I fly this training mission a lot and normally I pick up contacts at 70+ miles without issue, last night I could not pick them up at all unless I narrowed the azimuth down to 40 degrees..

DCS Series Flight Sims / Re: Getting into DCS, PC part idea's?

I highly recommend you have at least 32 GB of RAM and 8 GB of VRAM.  If you have these going having an M.2 drive is not as important (though it still would be better), that said you will still want DCS on an SSD.

I have 2 versions of DCS on my machine, the open Beta and the "Stable" each is pushing 200 GB, so lots of Storage is a good idea!

The recommended Specs that DCS put out will only work on low and some medium settings.

Thanks Top,

Sorry I have not been around, I have only been able to get on later in the evenings, after 10 pm my time lately.  I am going to fly some this weekend but next week I am out of town so I will not be flying.
