Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS and TARGET
« on: May 17, 2016, 07:15:46 pm »
OK, so I broke down and got the Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS.  Now what the heck do I do with it.
Several questions come to mind
1.   Who all in the squad has one?
2.   Do you DX only mode?
3.   Do you keep it as two separate controllers
4.   `Setup for DCS:A-10C should be easy, what about other games and DCS modules?
5.   Anyone use Thrustmaster  TARGET software? Sim2TARGET?
6.   Does anyone have any profiles they would like to share?

Good luck with that, Nathan. I hope you get it all set up. It's supposed to be a killer stick!

I'm wanting to get together again for lunch, but have not decided whether to go all the way to the Tri-Shitties or ask you to meet half-way again. I would like to see the display that they have set up at Richland PD, because I'm featured there a little, I guess. If you make it over there maybe you can take a few photos and send to me.

1. I do
2. not sure what you mean by DX mode, direct X?
3. I use Target so it is seen as one controller
4. I have a set up for each game, and several of my DCS aircraft have their own profile (Huey, 109 K4 and Mirage)
5. I use Target, it takes a bit of study but is very powerful
6. I can send you any of my profiles, they will take a little working thru because of the way I have them set up, but they work really well IMO (tell me which version of target you have).  Also remember beyond the Warthog I have a CH Multi function panel and a Saitek Cyborg keypad for other functions so not everything is on the warthog.

Yes i meant Direct  X mode.

And please send me your profiles.  My thought is to use TARGET pretty extensively.  I had (have but dont use a TM Cougar HOTAS) so did the prgraming a lot.  I also use CM  Manager for my current CH HOTAS.

Have you used a third partyprogram called Sim2TARGET?

Here is a utility I found that may help with the generation of profiles.

Hey Clutter ...not sure if you sorted you profiles out yet with Target  but I found some for download from DCS with pdf's telling you what they are set to in game..I don't think you use target..... There is another program so you can use a modifier to add secondary actions to the buttons .....I'm going to have a go at them and see how they work out ....

I gave Clutter my Profiles, If you are interested Sully let me know.  They can be a bit complicated I mostly use the default key bindings but in some instances I use ones I set up..
