Viggen - Important Controls to Map/Remember
« on: February 20, 2017, 09:09:03 pm »
S!

Decided to create a new thread showing the most important Viggen controls (IMO) to map/remember, as otherwise it gets lost deep within other threads.  You may find my priorities a little different than yours, but these should be enough to use most of the Viggen's features more efficiently.

S! Rel

===================================

These are the most important control inputs I have mapped to my joystick/throttle buttons/axis', or have adjusted key mapping combinations so that I can remember them easier.  Not including the obvious things for basic flight controls like joystick X/Y axis, rudder axis, throttle axis, landing gear up/down toggle.

--- High importance:
* Airbrake out/in/force out (Flight Control)
* Fast countermeasure dispense (Countermeasures) - only way to dispense flares from the KB pod (keeps dispensing until you hit it again!), chaff dispense follows program, default #2
* IR-missile fast select (Weapons) - otherwise you would have to rotate the weapon selecter to IR, too slow!
* IR-missile uncage (Weapons)
* Radarstick Down (Radar) - slews radar nav fix crosshair, also used to slew the Ep-13 sight for the RB-75/Maverick
* Radarstick Left (Radar) - slews radar nav fix crosshair, also used to slew the Ep-13 sight for the RB-75/Maverick
* Radarstick Right (Radar) - slews radar nav fix crosshair, also used to slew the Ep-13 sight for the RB-75/Maverick
* Radarstick Up (Radar) - slews radar nav fix crosshair, also used to slew the Ep-13 sight for the RB-75/Maverick
* T0 Fix (Radar) - neutral, aborts in-progress radar or own-position navigation fix, resets the Ep-13 sight
* T1 Fix (Radar) - first detent, displays cross-hair on radar over destination waypoint circle - OR initiates an own-position fix, releases Ep-13 sight for slewing
* TV Fix (Radar) - second detent, shifts destination waypoint (nav fix) to the crosshair location - OR, if radar is off, shifts to own-position (note, if not a target waypoint, it will shift ALL waypoints), locks target in Ep-13 sight
* Trigger safety bracket ARM (Weapons)
* Trigger safety bracket SAFE (Weapons)
* Weapon Release (Weapons)

--- Medium importance:
* A0 MOde (Radar) - radar off
* A1 Mode (Radar) - radar on, wide search/sweeping
* A2 Mode (Radar) - radar on, B-scope narrow search
* Fuel tank jettison Button (Weapons)
* Radar elevation down (Radar)
* Radar elevation up (Radar)
* Radar Range Decrease (Radar)
* Radar Range Increase (Radar)
* Rb05 stick pitch down (Weapons) - only applicable if you have Rb05's loaded
* Rb05 stick pitch up (Weapons) - only applicable if you have Rb05's loaded
* Rb05 stick pitch left (Weapons) - only applicable if you have Rb05's loaded
* Rb05 stick pitch right (Weapons) - only applicable if you have Rb05's loaded
* Reference button (Navigation) - for setting the altitude reference, e.g. nav mode HUD poles
* Trim: Nose Down (Flight Control)
* Trim: Nose Up (Flight Control)
* Weapon jettison Button (Weapons)

--- Low importance (or in some cases just to avoid having to click with the mouse):
* Fuel tank jettison Cover (Weapons) - Or, you can always click on the cover to open it before you take off
* Kneeboard ON/OFF (Kneeboard)
* Kneebaord Next Page (Kneeboard)
* Kneeboard Previous Page (Kneeboard)
* Kneeboard current position mark point (Kneeboard)
* Reversal off (Flight Control)
* Reversal on (Flight Control)
* Weapon jettison Cover (Weapons) - Or, you can always click on the cover to open it before you take off

--- Just plain cool! :)
* Fast Backward (Tape Player)
* Fast Forward (Tape Player)
* Play (Tape Player)
* Stop (Tape Player)
* Volume Down (Tape Player)
* Volume Up (Tape Player)

Thanks Rel will definitely have to work on mine more.  They really need to add some bloody toogles (like trigger safety on/off).
