I have it, as does Clutter, Rel and Scorp.  We fly it on DCS nights on Thursdays.  It's not bad.  If you have KA-50, it is nowhere near as smooth as that since the Huey has no autopilot damper channels.  You also have to be very careful when ttransitioning from moving to hover lest you enter a vortex ring state.  The flex sight at the copilot station let's you be pretty accurate with the miniguns.

It is now.  It went on sale a while back.  But it looks like it is back to regular retail price now.

I'm contemplating the Combined Arms module.  If for no other reason than to act as a JTAC on our missions.  It's kind of difficult to be the one to make the missions and then fly in it because I pretty much know everything that is going to happen and where.  heh.  If I grounded myself then the people flying would have no inside track to figuring out the mission.  :)

It can be fun driving the vehicles too - I'm curious to see your success in vehicle vs vehicle combat.  As I've complained about, even at "average" the AI is too accurate, so if you fight with not buildings in the way they will eventually always take you out :(...

Wow sounds like DCS is pretty wild now, helos and p51! Nice

Your talking about vortex and stuff in and out of hover is interesting too. I talk to some of the sherifs around town time to time who fly the helicopters here and never heard them worry about a vortex hover problem and they hover that sucker all the time hunting the bad boys! LOL

Most I hear them say is how easy it is to fly the crate. They go out day and night, say there's nothin to it, even a novice is fine. Maybe its the type, I dunno. I'll have to get the specs on it sometime. Sure since the huey from 40 years ago tech has improved. Maybe that's why they have so few problems. Got a plane too, but they put more hours into the helo, all they use the plane for is giving out speeding tickets clocking drivers on the highway.
