If you ever flown the German birds much you will notice that in the default view you are off centered to the gun sight. When you hit the command for "lean to gun sight" the sight is now centered in you field of view. I have not really noticed the issue with the Spits and Hurricanes.

I used to use the lean to gun sight but got annoyed with the delay and limited head movement. If flying the German birds, I will move my head to the left a little and then center my track ir, when I return my head to my natural center position the gun sight is now centered.

Hope that answers your question.

Karaya loves the lean to gunsight button and uses it every time. Its really just a matter of preference. Although I will admit, personally, I hated the idea of limited movement while being in the gunsight so I learned to lean to it without using the gunsight button.

However, the times I have decided to use the "lean to gunsight" key, usually when diving into a big group of bombers, or if I'm doing a high angled dive above a city. Leaning to the gunsight cleans up the amount of stuff thats directly in your line of sight.
