Pimax 8K & 5K+ Full Review
« on: September 17, 2018, 05:05:34 am »
Doesn't look good for DCS with the Pimax right now at least on full wide view.....The weird thing is it looks great for everything else ....Racing games and other flight sims like IL2 ....And he says its not great because it runs at 30- 40 frames but I think that's what a lot Rift owners get now ..........DCS needs to get their act together for VR optimization ......Video is long but if you watch it all the way through you will get a better understanding of VR in General .... If you want to just get to the game stats it starts at 2:02:00

DCS can be a bear to setuo in VR.  It does take a lot of tweaking and you WILL have to make sacrifices.  The following is a year old, but still does a good job of explaining what is what.

Currently I get 45 fps in most cases in Tops training missions and Blue Flag.  For the choppers, i get35ish near the ground and if it gets busy.  I find it very playable.  It isnt playable at under 28ish, as nothing would be.
I had hopes of seeing 90 fps once I upgraded but haven't sniffed that at ALL.

I think BOS and EDare both easier than DCS.  Just an opinion without a bases.
