Peril from DownUnder
« on: August 29, 2013, 05:55:43 pm »
Hi WarDogs! Long time no type.

This is fair warning that you should be very afraid as there a threatening storm clouds gathering from the antipode. Yes, 455 Squadron is about to attempt to possibly get organised enough to join you all on your fool idealistic crusade in the Philippines.

We have a mix of skills, some of us can shoot, some can fly , some can shoot and fly and there are the others. Let's just say our skill set has a large standard deviation. So as a tough enemy party we might fail miserably, but as an enemy party we are bound to succeed, because this only requires us getting organised to show up.

I hear currently you have one AKA member located in sunny Queensland, which just happens to be where i live, the rest of my squad is Western Australian based. So fellow cane toad send me a PM with your email addy nd we can talk all things to do with shooting down Gos and his fine feathered friends!

S! Oz (yes the same Oz from EAW 609 sqn days)

Jerricho's email is davidmac@hotmail.com
I'm sure he'll be happy to hear from you and anticipate the assistance of your squad, even if ya'll do walk upside down and flush ass-backwards.

I would suspect we would get about 6 pilots (including myself). However, at the moment , 2 are on holidays, 1 is  building a house so his rig is "offline" and one other is moving house.

I should have exact numbers by thursday this week and will update you all with call signs etc.

Well here is one at least. Thought it was about time someone extracted a digit and showed some intestinal fortitude. :-)

BTW - I appear to have succeeded in updating my game install to the required 4.11.1m + HSFX 6.0.17 - just have to do a quick check to make sure I can log in as per Gos's instructions...

I've sent the updated game disks to 455_Bear, who has agreed to distribute to the members who will be flying. It takes at least three days to get these to Oz and hopefully they won't get bogged down in customs once they arrive there.
Keep the ol' fingers crossed.

Can someone advise which planes we are likely to be in. I read late model P-40, Spit 5c, Beaufighters, maybe p-38s plus some multi-seat jobbies that will not appeal to us. (Willing but not eager for bombers).

Thanks for that - I had fun -

I have confirmed that I am blind as a bat -

I blew up a couple of planes on Goa - and landed afterwards (with very few bullet holes in my shiny p38) - even scared a couple of fighters on the fly through (Boom and zoom - or more accurately just Zoom - no earth shattering kaboom)

Landed and strolled off to the mess for some beers afterwards.

I feel I was a net positive in game - even if I was distracting in TS.

Next week there will probably be more 455ers

Outstanding!

Great to have you, Minkie. I hope it was a good challenge for you.
