Saturday Night Practice for Sunday Campaign
« on: January 10, 2015, 05:32:32 pm »

I am currently bored to death at the moment, so I thought id mention campaign practice :)
I vote we have Campaign practice time on Saturday as well as Tuesday.

I'd also be cool with the concept of strengthening situational awareness by keeping two man teams
where the wingman guards the lead and roles change on every turn.
I think having a scenario where we all practice slugging it out in a mayhem with volunteers taking up 109e7's for sacrifice would be a good starting point.
We need to be getting more air savy and learning how to stick to our wingman when flying in a brawl. Keeping a tight unit formation will always give good shot opportunities for the wingman as they keep the lead's six clear. Stuff like this is best practiced when it is for more than 1 minute every 30 mins of flying as we do now. Rather, it should be air start, quick to get to the point and easy on restarts, as in 'air starts' from decent altitude. This way the practice can be more efficient at getting all of us in the situations we will face in the real thing.

Not sure if there is a conflict with DCS flyers but it is certainly convenient for me and possibly some others like Rage and Greywolf, Gos, Gunslinger, Archangel, Deerhunter, Agilehunter, Merc ( Im sure I missed a few) . Turns out over the last few weekends I perceived we were kind of getting together until the Holidays came upon us, throwing everything into chaos again.

Hehe

I'd be up for that.  Happy to be a target!
Let's discuss on Sunday or Tues.
Cheers

I would be up for that also, it would be a good way to practice a game plan prior to the Sunday night mission.

8)I have tried to get this 2 plane and 4 plane formation flying going in this Squadron for years. TG and Greywolf have practiced two plane and it works for them! Let's all do it!
2 basic formations: defensive and offensive. Tai has the info for inclusion into the Squadron Standard. We can practice it formally or peace meal, but practice it for excellent results when you fly together with at least 2 planes! Tuesday night , tonight, is an excellent night to start!

I would like to join you guys for more events but my schedule is horrible... working 2nd and 3rd shifts. I am available Thursday night after 10th eastern. Friday nights. Saturday/Sunday/Monday after midnight eastern. Not much availability on Tuesday or Wednesday.

If anyone wants to practice some wingman tactics I would be up that. I can also host a dogfight or coop map. I will check in Saturday night to see if you guys are still on.

FiveIron,

I'm retired now, so I get up online and fly on the IL2 practice maps most evenings. Usually myself, TG, Rage, Ramstein, and Gunslinger are up for a few hours on most evenings around 7:00 central time. We all usually linkup on TS and shoot the @#$% and maybe a few AI at the same time. So your welcome to meet up and fly anytime you have some spare time.
